Peter Koo Congratulations and Good Luck

The 1980 Men’s Olympic Hockey team will forever be known as “The Miracle on Ice” and the 2009 Flushing City Council race will be forever known as the “Koo Miracle Election” This is not said to disparage Peter Koo on the contrary it is intended to pay him the greatest of compliments.

With an enrollment disadvantage of five Democrats to each one Republican, no one gave Peter Koo a chance. We here at Save Flushing Queens, made a decision after the primary to support Mr. Koo, because he is a man of honor and conviction and the decision was correct. We are proud of our decision and frankly the community will be proud that they stood up for change and rejected a candidate who was an empty “Red” suit.

Since the Election things have been quiet, everyone is back to their day to day lives, the annoying phone calls have stopped, the ugly proliferation of Posters has ceased. Peter Koo has begun his graceful Transition. He is attending Civic Associations, Senior Centers, Churches, and has avoided the nonsense of boring insignificant press conferences as he prepares to represent us in the City Council.

We should all work to support Peter and offer guidance and assistance as he begins the new stage in his community service as our Council Member.

Good Luck Peter.

  1. Dear Save Flushing Queens,

I must say you've made a right decision, and you are one of the miracle makers. One thing that really assured me through this election is that the voters are not dead. They are not only alive and well, but care enough for their own community to cross party lines like many of us. I'm truly so proud of them. Let's continue to save our Flushing.

  2. Peter Koo won because he used his money to influence the voters. Peter Koo is basically an inarticulate person with his constant stuttering. How can he fight for the people of Flushing if he can't even speak at City Hall. Peter will bring havoc to the streets of Flushing when the day that he is sworn into office. Peter Koo will work along side developers to turn Flushing into a infested overdevelopment where Small Businesses have no say in whats going on in their community.

Like Peter Koo said in his campaign literature: "Its not about Democrats or Republican" Yes, "Its not about Democrats or Republican", "Its about Peter Koo

Congratulation Peter Koo, I hope we can see pass this campaign Jargon and once and for all vote for your resignation

    To Save Flushing Queens:
Try save Flushing now, now that Peter Koo is District 20 Council Member.

  3. Thank you for your comments while we don't agree, you are entitled to your say.

If you are a Yen Supporter you are entitled to that, but please state publicaly that Yen spent more money than Peter! Also please list the names of those who were given cash and told to write checks in violation of Law.

Please explain all those mailing on the last few days for Yen Chow that attacked with no "Paid For By" disclaimer yet still using the same bulk permit used by the campaign.

Pleas explain how could Yen lose with a near 5 to 1 enrollment edge.

The answer is Clear Yen Chou was a bad candidate who was a Mike Olmeda puppet, no individual thought process no connection to the community no voting record no ability to articulate her thoughts... Peter Koo will do fine and when he makes mistakes we will be critical when he does good things we will support him.

And as to your comment on Resignations The Voters chose to Resign Yen Chou to political obscurity... She will forever be the the democrat who was the first to lose in Flushing in 100 years .. A Badge of Honor?? I think not!
